Alumni Update: Former QB Rudy Carpenter To Hold Football Camp In Scottsdale

Former Sun Devil and current Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Rudy Carpenter is holding a football camp in Scottsdale on March 20 and 21 at Chaparral High School.

Carpenter, who was the starting signal caller for the Sun Devils from 2005 to 2008, threw for 10,491 yards in his ASU career, going 799-1,309 (61%) with 81 touchdowns. The 799 completions are the most in school history, while he ranks second behind Andrew Walter in passing yards, pass attempts and touchdowns passes. His 61% completion percentage in his career is the best in ASU history and he is also tied for second in school history with 26 wins as a starting quarterback, behind only Danny White with 30.

Registration for the 5th through 8th grade camp begins at 8 a.m., with the camp scheduled to run from 8:30 to 12:30. Registration for the 9th through 12th grade camp begins at 12:30, with camp lasting from 1 p.m. until 4:30. Cost for the camp is $150 for both Saturday and Sunday or $100 for either day.The schedule is the same for both Saturday and Sunday.

Carpenter spent the beginning of the 2009 NFL season on the Dallas Cowboys practice squad before Tampa Bay signed him to their active roster on November 23rd.
