Nogueira Called Into U.S. U-23 Camp

SUNRISE, Fla. - Stanford freshman Mariah Nogueira has been called up to the United States Under-23 national team and is training with the squad during a camp that will last until March 14.
Nogueira started 22 matches at defensive midfielder and scored five goals and five assists for 15 points for Stanford. Nogueira earned several awards for her play, including a third-team All-America spot, while helping the Cardinal reach the NCAA College Cup final.
She was the Pac-10 Conference's Newcomer of the Year and a first-team all-conference choice.
Nogueira is one of 24 players in camp under coach Bill Irwin, who selected mostly underclassmen to his young squad.
