12th-Ranked Bruins Prepare for Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters

March 11, 2010

The 12th-ranked UCLA men's golf team travels to Las Vegas Mar. 12-14 to participate in the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters, hosted by UNLV at the Southern Highlands Golf Club.

Eleven of the nation's top 20 teams will be competing, including top-ranked Oklahoma State, No. 4 Texas and seventh-ranked Texas A&M as well as the Bruins.

Host UNLV won last year's tournament for the second straight year. In the 15-year history of the event, the Rebels have captured the title eight times. Georgia Tech's Cameron Tringale won medalist honors in 2009.

The Bruins, who finished ninth at the USC Invitational earlier this month, won the inaugural Battle at the Beach at Pelican Hill on Feb. 16.

UCLA's lineup will consist of junior Connor Driscoll, sophomores Alex Shi Yup Kim and Gregor Main and freshmen Pontus Widegren and Pedro Figueiredo.
