'They did a fabulous job tonight. They did everything we asked and really had a great performance,' head coach Tanya Chaplin said. 'There were too many steps on the bars at the beginning of the meet, but overall I'm really happy with this performance. This is their fourth road meet in a row and they have finals tomorrow, they did a great job of leaving those distractions at home.'high of 9.925 on the vault to tie for the event title.
The Beavers needed to get off to a good start and accomplished that goal going 6-for-6 on the uneven bars a week after suffering two falls on the apparatus. Jen Kesler led off for the Beavers and took a small step on dismount to score a 9.75. Mandi Rodriguez followed with a tiny hop on her landing to raise the bar to 9.80. Olivia Vivian and Stambaugh came next with strong routines but both took a step on the dismount and earned identical scores of 9.775. Laura-Ann Chong continued the rotation with a brilliant performance and a score of 9.875. Leslie Mak was last up for the Beavers, performing in the bars lineup for the first time since the season opener when she tallied a 9.925 in Corvallis. Mak's return to the lineup was solid if not perfect and earned a 9.85 from the judges.high of 9.925 on the vault to tie for the event title.
After the first rotation, OSU trailed Utah 49.325-49.075 and was tied with Penn State. With such a tight competition continuing the momentum generated during the first stanza was needed. Moving to the beam, the other event that caused problems last week with two falls, the Beavers used a new lineup with Vivian back in the lineup after sitting out last week's meet with a sore knee. Melanie Jones opened the rotation in her customary lead off position where a perfect dismount wasn't enough to hide a big wobble early in the routine. Vivian performed a great routine with just a small hop on the dismount to score 9.775. Stambaugh, who had a fall on the beam last week, came back with a wonderful routine without wobbles and nailed her tumbling series before finishing with a perfect dismount and a score of 9.85. Rodriguez, who has been lights out in recent weeks, endured a couple bobbles before finishing with a 9.675. Chong got the Beavers to the halfway point of the meet with another beautiful routine but was left with a score of 9.85.high of 9.925 on the vault to tie for the event title.
Oregon State was in third at the halfway point in the meet, trailing Utah by a half-point and a tenth of a point to Penn State, heading to the floor exercise for the third rotation. Leslie Mak started the lineup with a solid routine and a score of 9.75. Vivian returned to the lineup with a nice performance as well, scoring 9.80. Colvin followed with a career-high tying routine and a 9.875. Melanie Jones had a wonderful routine going until she landed short on her last tumbling pass and settled for a 9.80. Stambaugh performed a beautiful routine to score 9.90 and Rodriguez finished the Beavers floor lineup with her best routine in a month and a score of 9.925.high of 9.925 on the vault to tie for the event title.
Heading for the final rotation, the Beavers had moved ahead of Penn State, which counted a fall during their bars set, and had closed the gap on the Utes to two-tenths of a point. Oregon State's opening vaulter, Whitney Watson, fell but Jones came next and nailed her vault to score a career-high 9.875. Stephanie McGregor followed and took a step on the landing to score 9.75, and Stambaugh had a miniscule hop on her landing to score 9.85. Colvin performed the best vault of her career, tying her personal best score of 9.925 to tie for the event title. Rodriguez landed low on her vault to score 9.875.high of 9.925 on the vault to tie for the event title.

Friday's meet will be the final home performance for OSU seniors Laura-Ann Chong, Mandi Rodriguez and Whitney Watson.high of 9.925 on the vault to tie for the event title.
