SEATTLE - Tickets are on sale for the first and second rounds of the 2010 women's basketball NCAA regional tournament, held on Saturday, March 20, and Monday, March 22, at Bank of America Arena. The four participating teams are Gonzaga, Portland State, North Carolina and Texas A&M.

Game 1 on Saturday features the No. 2 seed Texas A&M Aggies against the No. 15 seed Portland State Vikings at 5:00 p.m. PST. Game 2 is the No. 7 seed Gonzaga Bulldogs versus the No. 10 seed North Carolina Tar Heels at 7:30 p.m.

On Monday, the winners of the first round games will face off at 6:30 p.m. PST.Tickets have been on sale since November, with 1,000 tickets already sold. Since Monday's announcement of the teams, 400 more tickets have already been purchased. A big walkup of fans buying tickets on first day is expected.

Gonzaga and Portland State have reserved for 200 tickets apiece for their fans, but tournament officials are expecting a strong showing from the local schools, each within driving distance. The Bulldogs drew on a sizeable local fanbase last season when they also played at Bank of America in the first two rounds.

'We are optimistic about being a good turnout with Gonzaga and Portland State coming. The local teams are providing a lot of help in bringing fans,' says Program Coordinator April Albritton. 'We are trying to appeal to more Texas A&M alumni because they have a strong fan base in the area.'

Tickets are available on GoHuskies.com, in person at the Husky ticket office in Graves Hall or by calling (206) 543-2200.
