Anderson Signs with Cardinals; Edwards Signs with Bills

Former Oregon State standout quarterback Derek Anderson has signed with the Arizona Cardinals after being released by the Cleveland Browns last week, it was reported Wednesday.

Anderson has agreed to terms with Arizona on a two-year $7.25 million contract and will be competing for the starting job with former USC quarterback Matt Leinart.

Anderson has been in the NFL for six years and has been with the Browns for the past four seasons. During that time he has played in 39 games and thrown 46 touchdowns. He also made the Pro Bowl in 2007 after starting every game and throwing a career best 29 touchdowns.

The Baltimore Ravens drafted Anderson in the sixth round, 213th overall in the 2005 NFL draft.

Elsewhere in the NFL, former Oregon State defensive lineman and seven-year NFL veteran, Dwan Edwards, agreed to terms with the Buffalo Bills after spending the past five seasons with the Ravens.

Edwards played in every game of the 2009 season for the Ravens including 10 starts. He started in the first round, 33-14 win over the New England Patriots in which he recorded seven tackles and one sack.

Edwards was drafted by Baltimore in the second round (51st overall) in the 2004 NFL Draft.

In Buffalo, Edwards could join former Oregon State linebacker Keith Ellison who has been with the Bills since being drafted in 2006, but is a restricted free agent this year former Beaver offensive guard Andy Levitre also plays for Buffalo after being drafted in the second round of the 2009 draft.
