March 18, 2010
SAN JOSE, Calif - Unless you've been living under a rock, you are fully aware the first round of the NCAA Tournament is well underway! With a few upsets already taking place, March Madness has taken over the sports world and the next few days promise to be among the most exciting of the year.
The 11th-seeded Washington Huskies face sixth-seeded Marquette at approximately 4:20 p.m. at HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif. The game is slated to be the third of the day in the building, but the first of the second session. The winner will play either Montana or New Mexico on Saturday in the second round.
Check back here throughout the day to get a little different insight as the Huskies look to advance in the tournament!
2:52 p.m. - The Huskies are on their way to the Arena. The team conducted a practice session (commonly called a walkthrough or shootaround) this morning at San Jose State. The team hotel is only about 5-7 minutes away so there shouldn't be any travel lag!
It is a beautiful day in San Jose. The sun is shining and it is about 76 degrees. The first game of the day was a doozie, with 13th-seeded Murray State knocking-off 4th-seeded Vanderbilt 66-65. MSU's Danero Thomas hit an 18-foot shot from the right wing as the buzzer sounded to give CBS the classic moment it will no doubt replay hundreds of times over the next few weeks.
