Fifth-Ranked Bruins Compete in Match Play Championship

The fifth-ranked UCLA men's golf team travels to the annual Collegiate Match Play Championship, Mar. 21-23 at Dove Mountain in Marana, Ariz.

The Bruins are seeded fifth and will meet 12th-seeeded Colorado State in the first round Sunday at 8 a.m. Representing the Pac-10, second-ranked Stanford is seeded first, sixth-ranked Washington is seeded second, 14th-ranked USC is seeded eighth, 16th-ranked Arizona state is seeded fourth and xx-ranked Arizona is the 14th seed.

At their last event in Las Vegas, the Bruins tied for first place in the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters with host UNLV, which is the sixth seed.

In 2008, UCLA won this event and eventually won the NCAA team championship.
