Cal Baseball Comes Up Short at Cal Poly, 6-5

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CALIF. -

The California baseball team rallied for four runs in the top of sixth inning to come back from a 6-1 deficit, but could get no closer, falling 6-5 at Cal Poly Sunday (March 21) afternoon in the third game of a three-game series at Baggett Stadium in San Luis Obispo. The Golden Bears ended up winning the series with an 11-9 victory on Friday and a 14-2 win Saturday. The big hits for Cal in the sixth inning were a two-run double by freshman third baseman Tony Renda, and a two-run homer to left fielder by sophomore shortstop Marcus Semien.
