UCLA sophomore Gregor Main posted a second round score of 70 (-2) at the Arnold Palmer Invitational Friday at Bay Hill Club and Lodge in Orlando, Fla.
Main's 36-hole score of 146 (+2) missed the cut by one stroke along with UCLA alumnus Scott McCarron.
Main began his day at the 10th hole where he quickly dropped to one-under par with a birdie. He birdied his third hole and finished his front nine in 34 (-2). On his back nine, he birdied the 13th and 15th holes, both par 5s, and improved to four-under par. Bogeys at his 16th and 18th holes gave him a score of 36 (E) on the home nine.
Main earned his spot in the tournament by winning the Southern Amateur in Memphis last summer.
