CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State baseball team saw its 10-game streak snapped in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday at Goss Stadium. The 17th-ranked Beavers lost to Long Beach State, 7-1, in front of 2,179 fans.

Long Beach State finished with 13 hits to Oregon State's seven. No Oregon State player had more than one hit in the loss.

Both teams scored solo runs in the first. Long Beach State loaded the bases on three straight singles, then took a 1-0 lead when Steve Tinoco singled to left. The Beavers answered in the bottom half of the first when Matt Boyd singled through the right side, scoring Adalberto Santos.

Kirk Singer made it 2-1 when he led off the top half of the second with a solo home run over the left-field fence. It was just the second home run allowed this season by Oregon State starter Tanner Robles.

Robles made it six full innings, but allowed seven hits and four runs. LBSU scored its final two runs off Robles in the fourth; Juan Avila doubled home a run with one out, and the next batter, Devin Lohman, flew out to right for a sacrifice fly.

Robles dropped to 4-2 on the year after taking the loss.

Jake Thompson improved to 3-0 for Long Beach State. The right-hander allowed seven hits and a run in seven innings, striking out seven in the process.

With the win, Long Beach State improved to 10-11 on the year. Oregon State, meanwhile, dropped to 16-4.

The Beavers' 10-game win streak was the team's longest since OSU won 10 consecutive to close out the 2010 campaign.

Game two of Saturday's doubleheader follows shortly.
