McLaughlin Leads Bruin Women On Final Day Of Cal/Nevada Championships

Ashlea McLaughlin highlighted the Bruin women on the final day of competition at the Cal/Nevada Championships as the junior won the 800m and placed third in the 400m.
McLaughlin, who only began competing in the 800m during the indoor season, posted a win in the event, running a lifetime-best 2:09.81. She then came back to race in the 400m, placing third overall with a time of 54.56.
Lindsay Rowe, also a double event competitor for the Bruins on Sunday, finished sixth in the 100m with a time of 12.14 and third in the 100m hurdles with a season-best time of 13.59.
The 4x100m relay team of Nijah Nelms, Danielle Watson, Yasmin Woodruff and RoNecia Nash finished second overall with a time of 45.66, while the 4x400m relay team of Briana Barlow, Ryann Krais, Tina Theriot and Yasmin Woodruff placed 12th (3:51.77).
Mariah Gibson finished sixth in the high jump as she equaled her lifetime-best with a clearance of 5-6. Krais was eighth, also with a clearance of 5-6. Dayna Hill jumped a lifetime-best in the triple jump, 38-2.25, to finish 16th overall.
The Bruins finished fifth in the team competition with 66 points. Cal State Northridge won the team title with 98, followed by Cal State Fullerton and San Diego State tied for second with 84 points a piece.
The Bruins will next head to San Luis Obispo to compete at the Cal Poly Invitational April 3.
