March 29, 2010
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State women’s soccer team released its spring schedule on Monday as the Beavers will open the exhibition schedule with a meeting against Portland on Saturday, April 3, at 12:00 p.m.
Oregon State will host three home contests during the five-game exhibition slate as the Beavers will host Oregon on Saturday, April 10, at 2:30 p.m. followed by the highlight of the 2010 spring schedule, a contest against the United States U23 Women’s National Team on Wednesday, April 21, at 7:00 p.m.
Admission is free to the spring matches as fans are encouraged to bring canned food items to support Community Outreach.
In addition, a silent auction to benefit the women’s soccer program will be conducted throughout the spring season. Fans attending the matches can place bids on a giant-sized, autographed team poster throughout the home portion of the schedule as winners will be announced at halftime of the US U-23 match with posters awarded at that time.
Oregon State returns seven starters from the most successful squad in the program’s history as the Beavers finished the season with a mark of 14-8-1 and advanced to the Sweet 16 of the 2009 NCAA Women’s Soccer Championship.
Following three home matches, Oregon State concludes the spring exhibition schedule with road games at Seattle Pacific (May 1) and against the Seattle Sounders (May 2).
