Hilary Barte Named Pac-10 Player Of The Week

STANFORD, Calif.- Junior Hilary Barte has been named Pac-10 Player of the Week for Mar. 22-28, as announced by Commissioner Larry Scott.
The honor is the fourth of Barte's career and second for a Stanford player this year as Lindsay Burdette captured the award for Feb. 1-7.
Barte won all three of her singles and doubles matches last week, leading No. 12 Stanford to victories over No. 51 Pepperdine (6-1), No. 23 Arizona State (6-1) and No. 55 Arizona (6-1). The Cardinal is now 13-1 overall, 2-0 in the Pac-10 and has won six straight matches.
Playing at the No. 1 singles position for all three contests, the junior defeated No. 81 Arianna Colffer of Pepperdine (6-1, 6-0), Micaela Hein (6-4, 6-2) of Arizona State and No. 93 Natasha Marks (3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8) or Arizona. Barte improved to 22-3, 14-0 in duals and extended her winning streak to 17 matches. For the season, Barte is 14-2 against nationally ranked opponents.
She also teamed with Lindsay Burdette in doubles to post three victories.
Stanford is back in action this weekend on Friday, Apr. 2, against USC at 1:30 p.m.
