No. 10 Men's Rowing Hosts No. 1 Washington This Saturday At Redwood Shores

STANFORD, Calif. - The No. 10 Stanford Cardinal Men host the defending national champion and the nation's top-ranked men's rowing team, Washington, on the Redwood Shores lagoon this Saturday, April 3. As part of the Women's Pac-10 Challenge, the racing begins at 10:20 a.m. with the men's I Eight, followed by the II Eight and frosh.
'Washington is well coached, driven for success and dedicated to the tradition that is Husky rowing,' said Director of Rowing and Men's head coach Craig Amerkhanian. 'We will do our best against the top-ranked team in men's collegiate rowing.'
The Cardinal men got their spring season underway last weekend at the San Diego Crew Classic, as the frosh eight led the way with a runner-up finish in the competition for the Derek Guelker Cup.
Stanford's II Eight took fourth in the race for the Sharp Cabrillo Cup, while the I Eight took sixth overall in the Copley Cup competition.
Next weekend, April 9-10, the Stanford Lightweight women host another Stanford Invitational with Princeton, Tulsa and Wisconsin. On April 17-18 the men will host another Stanford Invitational with Wisconsin, Michigan, California and Oregon State highlighting the field. All racing will begin at 9 a.m. at Redwood Shores.
