Stanford To Send Small Group To SF State

April 1, 2010

Stanford, Calif. - Stanford track and field will be back in action this weekend when the Cardinal send a small group of athletes to San Francisco to compete in the Johnny Mathis Invitational. Just five male sprinters will represent Stanford at the annual meet hosted by San Francisco State.

The meet will take place, Saturday, April 3, beginning at 10:00 a.m., at Cox Stadium on the campus of San Francisco State.

A week after the Stanford Invitational and a week before the Big Meet, most Stanford athletes will take the weekend off and train. The group heading to San Francisco includes Daniel Belch, Zach Chandy, Ryan Fisicaro, Tyrone McGraw and Mark Mueller. Each will be competing in the 100 meters and making up a team that will enter the 4x100-meter relay.

The full Cardinal team will be back in action on Saturday, April 10, when it travels to Berkeley to compete in the Big Meet versus California. The annual dual meet is the most exciting regular season event of the season for Stanford track as the meet is team scored.
