No. 7 Stanford Thumps No. 53 UC Irvine 6-1

STANFORD, Calif.- No. 7 Stanford kicked off its five-game homestand with a victory on Tuesday afternoon, dispatching of No. 53 UC Irvine 6-1 at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium.

Stanford improved to 13-5 on the year while UC Irvine fell to 13-8.

The Cardinal swept all three doubles matches to capture the doubles point and take a 1-0 lead.

Stanford dominated singles play as well, with Greg Hirshman providing the clincher with a 6-0, 6-1 win on court five.

The Cardinal is back in action on Friday, Apr. 9, hosting No. 22 Washington at 1:30 p.m.
