Baseball Returns Home This Weekend

TUCSON, Ariz. – The No. 21 Arizona baseball team returns home this weekend and is expecting to play in front of the some of the largest crowds of the season thanks to a highly successful first half of the season and a national ranking that it has held for three consecutive weeks.
The Wildcats (23-9, 4-5 Pac-10) host Washington State this weekend in a three-game Pac-10 conference series at Kindall Field/Sancet Stadium. The series begins on Friday at 6 p.m. as Arizona sends ace pitcher Kurt Heyer (5-0) to the mound. The teams will continue the series on Saturday at 6 p.m. and conclude the set on Sunday at Noon.
Friday’s game is sure to be a fun one for those attending as fans are encouraged to participate in “80’s Night” by wearing their best attire from the 80’s. Participating fans can enter a “best dressed” contest for a chance to win prizes.
On Saturday, UA will host Club Arizona Kid’s Day. Admission for all kids is just $1 and all kids can attend a pre-game carnival which will be held from 5-6 p.m. Activities include a bean bag toss, inflatable obstacle course, face painting, poster creation station, mini basketball hoop, hula hoops, and Eegee drinks.

Arizona, which won 15-consecutive home games earlier this season, is 20-5 at home this season. This weekend’s action will be followed by another crucial home series next weekend as the Wildcats host No. 2 UCLA April 23-25.
