No. 7 Men's Tennis Routs No. 57 Santa Clara 7-0

STANFORD, Calif.- No. 7 Stanford posted its second straight shutout victory, routing No. 57 Santa Clara 7-0 on Tuesday afternoon at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium.

The Cardinal (16-5, 4-1 Pac-10) has now won a season-high five consecutive matches. Santa Clara fell to 14-6 overall.

Quick wins at the Nos. 1 and 2 doubles spots were enough to put Stanford in front 1-0.

Alex Clayton surrendered just one game in defeating Jay Won in straight sets before Bradley Klahn won his team-leading 28th match with a 6-0, 6-3 victory at the No. 1 spot to extend Stanford's lead to 3-0.

Richard Wire provided the clincher at the No. 5 spot, defeating Tom Pham 6-4, 6-3.

Stanford is back in action on Wednesday, Apr. 14, against No. 73 San Francisco at 3 p.m.
