Women's Track Heads To Florida, While Men's Team Heads To Oregon
April 14, 2010
The UCLA track and field teams have a busy weekend ahead as three meets are on the schedule - Tom Jones Memorial Classic, UCLA/Oregon Dual and the Mt. SAC Relays. The women's team will head to Gainesville, FL for the Tom Jones Memorial Classic, while the men will head to Eugene, Oregon for the third consecutive year of a dual with the Ducks. Athletes not going to either meet will stay local and compete in Walnut at the Mt. SAC Relays.
The Tom Jones Memorial Classic is in its third year and honors Bruin alum and former Florida coach Tom Jones, who passed away in 2007. Participating teams include Brown, host Florida, Florida Atlantic, Kentucky, Princeton, South Florida, UCF and the Bruins. The meet begins at 10:00 am on Saturday.
The men return to Oregon for a third year to battle head-to-head against the Ducks. Last year, Oregon won the dual meet in the final event of the day, the 4x400m relay. Events begin at 11:45 am. Live TV coverage will begin at noon on Comcast Sports Net (In Eugene-Comcast channel 37/737HD). The meet will also be available on Goducks.com if people subscribe to the O-Zone.
