April 16, 2010
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State women’s rowing team will be competing against UCLA and San Diego on Saturday, April 17, at Dexter Lake in Lowell, Ore. The 2000-meter competitions will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the novice 8+ race.
Of the three crews competing this weekend, two are ranked nationally. Oregon State is tied with Harvard for at No. 16, while UCLA is just one above at No. 15. San Diego, though not ranked, has been very successful this season.
'It's going to be great hosting UCLA this weekend. It is the first time in a long time, maybe ever, that UCLA has been to Dexter Lake for a race,” said head coach Emily Ford. “We are also happy to announce that San Diego will be joining us in the three varsity events. It should be a great 3-way competition - we hope to see a lot of folks lining the shore!'
Oregon State’s meet against UCLA and San Diego marks the Beaver’s final home race of the season. Next week they will travel to Pullman, Wash. to take on the Cougars before they head to the Pac-10 Championships (May 16).
