Gymnastics Journey: Great Meet, Great Finish
April 23, 2010
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Words cannot even begin to express how ridiculously awesome tonight has been. To finish off the year at the National Championships with our best meet of the season is truly the most amazing feeling and sense of accomplishment. We have exceeded all expectations and proved that Stanford Gymnastics NEVER backs down!!!
We all awoke this morning with endless excitement, and I think that at 10 o'clock in the morning we were ready to compete! Well, we might have still been a little tired from the night before but we just didn't want to wait the entire day before we could get out there on the floor. On the way to meet we, yet again, had a dance party in true SWG fashion, which was a great way to start the most fun meet I have ever been a part of. The energy all throughout the night was sooooo high and we built on each routine and kept the momentum rolling through each event. We left everything we had out there on the floor and at the end of the night we finished in fourth place. We are super happy with our performance, and for a team who was ranked 8th this preseason we went above and beyond what others expected of us. It might sound repetitive when I tell you how amazing the night was, but I think I speak for my teammates when I say that this was a great ending to one of the most memorable seasons with such a fabulous group of girls.
Tomorrow night is the last night of the Championships and we will be cheering on two members of the 'out of this world' senior class, Blur and CJ, in their quest for individual titles on vault (Blur), and bars and beam (CJ).
Thanks for checking in, GO CARD!!!!
