Obenaus, Rosinski Drop Pac-10 Invite Final
April 25, 2010
OJAI, Calif. - The Pac-10 Championships wrapped up today at the Ojai, and Husky juniors Tobi Obenaus and Alex Rosinski settled for runner-up honors in the invitational doubles final. Still it was a very positive weekend for UW's third doubles team heading into NCAA tourney play.
Obenaus and Rosinski had been ranked for several weeks earlier in the season, but coming into the Pac-10 tourney the two had lost six matches in a row. They turned it around this week with wins over teams from USC and UCLA. In today's final at Libbey Park, however, they fell to Stanford's Greg Hirshman and Walker Kehrer by an 8-4 count.
Washington will now await its NCAA Championships fate, which will be announced on May 4 on a selection show on ESPNNEWS. The Huskies will be expecting to make their sixteenth consecutive NCAA field.
