Cal Tied for Seventh after First Day of Pac-10's

TEMPE - Cal is tied for seventh at the end of the first day of action Monday at the 2010 Pac-10 Men's Golf Championships being hosted through Wednesday by Arizona State. Golden Bear golfer Eric Mina is in the hunt for individual medalist honors after the first 36 of 72 holes have been played at the ASU Karsten Golf Course.

The Bears shot a six-under par 704 (347-357) with Mina's nine-under par total of 133 (65-68) leading the way four shot behind tournament leader Jesper Kennegard (63-66 - 129, -13). Brandon Hagy (66-70 - 136, -6) is tied for ninth three shots behind Mina, while Michael Weaver (68-71 - 139, -3) is another three strokes back.

James Coré (51st-T, 74-73 - 147), Chad Vivolo (54th-T, 74-75 - 149) and Evan Derian (74-77 - 151, +9) are also participating in the event for the Golden Bears.

The 72-hole event continues with 18 holes both Tuesday (9 a.m. MST/PDT) and Wednesday (8 a.m. MST/PDT).
