April 29, 2010

Corvallis, Ore. -

Oregon State University women's basketball student-athlete Eisha Sheppard has elected to transfer, Beaver head coach LaVonda Wagner announced Thursday.

The guard from Victorville, Calif., played in 22 games last season as a reserve, averaging 2.3 points in 140 minutes.

'I appreciate everything Coach Wagner and Oregon State University has done for me; I feel it's best for me to seek opportunities closer to home,' Sheppard said.  'I made the decision for my family and me.'

Sheppard came to OSU prior to the 2009-10 season from San Bernardino Valley College in California.  She attended Southeast Community College in Nebraska her freshman season after attending Victor Valley High School in her hometown.

'We wish Eisha all the best in her future endeavors and I sincerely hope that she finds what she is looking for in a program closer to home,' Wagner said  'We'd like to thank her for being a part of our team this past season.'
