No. 20 Cal Baseball Tops Oregon State, 11-3

The No. 20-ranked Cal baseball team scored 11 runs on 14 hits and received solid pitching from sophomore right-hander Erik Johnson, defeating Oregon State, 11-3, Friday (April 30) in the first game of a three-game Pac-10 series at Evans Diamond. Offensively, the Golden Bears were paced by junior second baseman Brian Guinn, who went 3-for-5 with an RBI double, while freshman third baseman Tony Renda and junior first baseman Mark Canha had two RBI apiece. Cal snapped a four-game losing streak to improve to 24-15 overall and 9-7 in the conference. The Beavers drop to 21-15 and 4-9 in league play.
