Stanford Men's I Eight Defeats Oregon State In Final Pac-10 Tuneup

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. - The Stanford men's I Eight raced exclusively on Redwood Shores against thetop eight from Oregon St. this morning. Racing for first time this springwith Sebastian Peterlin, the Cardinal eight cruised to a three-lengthvictory.
The Cardinal showed continuous speed over the course, extending thelead throughout and turning in a winning time of 5:46.9. Oregon State came in at 5:59.8.
'The men are now on track for a strong Pac-10 Championship showing on May16.' said Stanford Director of Rowing and men's head coach Craig Amerkhanian. 'We finally put our top eight in play and the results are very encouraging. Our goal continues to be the best we can be'.
'Over the next two weeks we will dial in our shell and prepare to face thetop two teams in the country-Cal and Washington on Lake Natoma,' Amerkhanian added.
