Koria Grabs First Pac-10 Weekly Honor

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- ARIZONA sophomore Lini Koria was named Pac-10 Softball Player of the Week for May 3-9, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today.
Koria, a native of Carson, Calif., hit for a .545 average over the weekend, tallying six hits and six RBI. In the first game of the Wildcats' series with Oregon, Koria went 2-for-4 with two doubles and scored two runs in UA's 8-3 victory. In game two of the series, Koria went 2-for-5, including one home run. She finished off the weekend by knocking in five RBI in the final game, including belting her fourth grand slam of the season. She also drew a walk in the 11-0 win, and was one of two Wildcats to reach base in every plate appearance.
This marks Koria's first career weekly honor and Arizona's 131st all-time.
Arizona hosts UCLA in a three-game series beginning Thursday at 7 p.m.
