No. 19 Cal Baseball Loses Game Three at Washington State, 9-4

PULLMAN, WASH. -

The No. 19-ranked Cal baseball team could not overcome giving up five runs in the first inning, losing, 9-4, Monday (May 10) at Washington State in game three of the three-game Pac-10 series at Bailey-Brayton Field in Pullman. The Golden Bears, who last weekend (April 29-May 2) had swept Oregon State at Evans Diamond, lost all three games in the Palouse (13-10, 11-9, 9-4) and are now 27-18 overall and 11-10 in league play. WSU improves to 25-17 and 9-9 in conference. Freshman designated hitter Tony Renda was 3-for-5 with an RBI triple in the third inning, and sophomore catcher Chadd Krist had a two-run single in the seventh inning.
