Tucker Earns Second NCAA Regional Selection
May 10, 2010
PULLMAN - Washington State University senior Kevin Tucker has been selected to participate in the 2010 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Regional Championships, the NCAA announced today.
Tucker is one of 10 individuals competing at the Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Wash., May 20-22. He earned the No. 8 seed at Gold Mountain, one of six regional sites around the country, and will be competing against 13 teams and nine other individuals, vying for the right to advance to the NCAA Championships.
'Kevin has been a phenomenal player his entire career,' WSU Head Coach Walt Williams said. 'He is very deserving of being selected. I am disappointed that the team didn't make it, but Kevin is very deserving nonetheless.'
Tucker, who was named second-team All-Pacific-10 Conference earlier this month, will be competing at the regional championships for the second-straight year. The Kennewick, Wash., native is the first men's golfer in school history to garner multiple individual postseason selections.
The top five teams from each of the six regional sites and the low individual not a member of those teams will advance to the NCAA Championship on June 1-6 at The Honors Course near Chattanooga, Tenn.
