No. 13/12 Bears Snatch Game One Win From Beavers, 9-1

BERKELEY - The No. 13/12 California softball team was far too much for Oregon State to handle on Thursday afternoon with the Golden Bears (39-17 overall/8-11 in the Pac-10 Conference) claiming the 9-1 mercy win over the Beavers (24-29/4-15 in the Pac-10) in five innings. The Beavers got on the board in the top of the first, but the Bears scored in the bottom end of the inning and then five in the third to build an insurmountable lead. [Read More]

Haber, Hansen Lead Cardinal Past Ducks, 9-4
STANFORD, Calif. - Behind the bats of senior Alissa Haber and sophomore Ashley Hansen, the 15th-ranked Stanford softball team defeated No. 20 Oregon, Thursday, at Smith Family Stadium. With the win, the Cardinal improve to 34-17 overall and 6-13 in the Pac-10, while the Ducks drop to 33-17 and 8-11 in the conference. [Read More]

Red Hot Offense From Rogers and Urfer Lift No. 10 Softball Over No. 1 Washington
TEMPE, Ariz.
– An authoritative performance at the plate from Lesley Rogers and Mandy Urfer, combined with Hillary Bach’s command of the strike zone led the No. 10 ASU Sun Devil Softball team to a 6-5 win over the No. 1 Washington Huskies Friday night. Bach moves to 23-4 on the year while ASU improves to 41-13 overall and 10-9 in conference play. The loss moves the top-ranked Huskies to 43-6 overall and 15-4 in Pac-10 play with Baily Harris taking the loss to fall to 9-4. [Read More]

Burney Bomb Lifts Bruins to Extra-Inning Win Over Arizona
TUCSON, Ariz. - Third-ranked Arizona rallied from a 5-0 deficit in the final two innings to force extras, but a leadoff solo home run by senior Julie Burney in the top of the eighth helped send the fifth-ranked Bruins to a 6-5 victory on Thursday at Hillenbrand Stadium. [Read More
