Alex Linnenkohl Named to Rimington List

May 26, 2010

Corvallis, Ore. -

Oregon State senior offensive center Alex Linnenkohl has been selected as one of 36 players to be included on the 2010 preseason Rimington Trophy “watch” list.  The Rimington is awarded annually to the nation’s top center and will be presented Jan. 15, 2011 in Lincoln, Neb.

The 6-2 303-pound Linnenkohl has started 26 consecutive games and in 2009 was selected to the Pac-10 Conference Honorable Mention Team.  The two-time Pac-10 Academic selection from Olympia, Wash., is a co-team captain for the upcoming season.

Linnenkohl is the fourth Beaver to be selected to a preseason awards team, joining Heisman Trophy candidate running back Jacquizz Rodgers, wide receiver James Rodgers and defensive tackle Stephen Paea.

Oregon State returns to the practice field Aug. 9 in preparation for the 2010 season, which opens Sept. 4 vs. TCU at Cowboys Stadium on ESPN.
