Fournier, Vasilieva Participate at NCAA Singles Championship

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University tennis players Elisabeth Fournier and Liudmila Vasilieva are in action today at the 2010 NCAA Women's Singles Championship, being played at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Georgia.

Fournier, a sophomore from Ottawa, Canada, will face Ellah Nze of Duke today at 10 a.m., Pacific Time. Fournier enters the match ranked 59th nationally while Nze currently holds a 47 national ranking.

Vasilieva, a freshman from Yekaterinburg, Russia, meets No. 7 seed Allie Will of Florida at 3 p.m. PT. Vasilieva holds a No. 61 ranking while Will is ranked No. 8.

This year marks the first time in school history two Cougar women have made the NCAA singles field in the same season.
