Women's Volleyball's Incoming Freshmen Class Ranked Third Nationally

STANFORD, Calif. - For the second straight season head coach John Dunning has brought in the third-best recruiting class in the nation. The 2010 Stanford women's volleyball recruiting class has been tabbed the No. 3 class by PrepVolleyball.com.

The five freshmen that will join the team this fall and help it contend for a fifth consecutive Pac-10 title includes two of the top-5 recruits in the nation.

'We are very excited about the incoming class,' said Dunning. 'This group of student-athletes is very talented and experienced. They will join our team and immediately be able to contribute to the success of our program.'

The class includes Lydia Bai (Tustin, Calif.), Mary Luck (Houston, Texas), Rachel Williams (San Jose, Calif.), and twins Carly and Sam Wopat (Goleta, Calif.).

In addition to the five newcomers, the 2010 Stanford squad will include three returning senior All-Americans - libero Gabi Ailes, outside hitter Alix Klineman and setter/hitter Cassidy Lichtman. The Cardinal will open the season against Tulane on Aug. 27 at the New Mexico Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M.
