Arizona One Day Away from WCWS Opener
June 2, 2010
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. --Arizona participated in a one-hour television shoot with ESPN and took a two-hour team practice at the ASA Hall of Fame Complex on the eve of its WCWS opener against Tennessee.
The Cats began the day with a team breakfast at 9:30 a.m. at team headquarters in northwest Oklahoma City before Head Coach Mike Candrea and senior shortstop K'Lee Arredondo headed off to a pre-WCWS press conference at the complex.
At 1:30 p.m., the team met with ESPN and did a photo shoot, then held a two-hour practice at 2:30 p.m.
Arizona will return to the team hotel around 5 p.m. local time.
Notes: ASA Hall of Fame Stadium has undergone a few changes since last year's WCWS. There outfield fence was raised to six feet, a warning track was added, and the field dimensions have been pushed from 190 feet down the lines and 210 feet in centerfield to 200 feet down the lines and 220 feet in centerfield - the same dimensions as Arizona's Hillenbrand Stadium.
