Wednesday, June 2, 2:15 p.m. CDT: The first press conference of the day has taken place here at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium. Coach Heather Tarr and Danielle Lawrie appeared for the Huskies, along with the head coach and a player from each team (Arizona, Georgia, Tennessee) in the Huskies' half of the bracket. Later, a player and coach from Arizona, Florida, Missouri and UCLA will arrive for their meeting with the press.

The team is all back at the hotel, where many of them are spending time studying, prior to their first trip to the stadium this week. All the players and coaches will spend a little time with ESPN, shooting their introductions, doing interviews and more. After that, they have one hour on a practice field and then one hour on the game field.

It's hot in Oklahoma -- just about 91 degrees and clear right now -- and it's expected to get hotter. Lawrie addressed the temperature in her comments to the press.

Don't forget: the Huskies play the fourth of four WCWS games tomorrow. It's Washington vs. Georgia at 6:30 p.m. Pacific Time. The game will be on ESPN2 and on KKNW AM-1150 radio. You can watch on, or listen at

Here are a couple of brief videos from the press conference -- one each of Tarr and Lawrie answering questions:
