Watson to Transfer from Cougar Basketball Program

June 7, 2010

PULLMAN, Wash. - Redshirt freshman James Watson has left the Washington State University men's basketball program and will pursue his basketball and academic careers at a junior college, head coach Ken Bone announced Monday.

'We wish James nothing but the best,' Bone said.

Watson saw action in 29 of the Cougars' 31 games, averaging nearly two points and two rebounds an outing during his redshirt freshman season in 2009-10. A native of Atoka, Okla., Watson redshirted as a freshman during the 2008-09 season. At the conclusion of the school year Watson was ruled ineligible for the 2010 fall semester due to academic reasons.
