Bertasjus Becomes USC's First Three-Time All-American

June 8, 2010

Senior Liene Bertasjus earned Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association 2010 Pocock All-American first team honors - becoming USC's first-ever three-time All-American -- while sophomores Ivana Filipovic and Anna Wierzbowska both earned CRCA All-American second team honors, the CRCA announced on Monday.

Bertasjus also earned All-American first team notice in 2008 and 2009 while Filipovic and Wierzbowska earned their first All-American honors. The only other year USC had three All-Americans was in 2007.

Bertasjus, Filipovic and Wierzbowska led USC to an eighth-place finish at the 2010 NCAA Championships, the Trojans' second-best finish in program history. The trio also led USC's Varsity Eight to the NCAA Championships Grand Final for just the fourth time in school history, finishing sixth.
