UCLA Baseball Practices at Omaha's Rosenblatt Stadium

OMAHA, Neb. - The UCLA baseball team continued their pre-tournament College World Series activities on Friday, including a 50-minute practice at Rosenblatt Stadium prior to a 45-minute autograph session along the concourse. In the evening, UCLA took part in the tournament's Opening Ceremonies at Rosenblatt Stadium.
Sixth-year head coach John Savage spoke to members of the media in a half-hour press conference along with head coaches from Florida (Kevin O'Sullivan), TCU (Jim Schlossnagle) and Florida State (Mike Martin).
Savage is making his first appearance at the College World Series in nine seasons as a head coach. Serving as an assistant coach at USC for four seasons (1997-2000), he helped lead the Trojans to the national title in 1998 and back to the College World Series in 2000.
The Bruins (48-14) play the second game of the 2010 College World Series against Florida (47-15) on Saturday at 4 p.m. PT/6 p.m. CT. Earlier in the day, Florida State takes on TCU at 11 a.m. PT/4 p.m. CT, with the winner of each contest facing off Monday at 4 p.m. PT/6 p.m. CT.
Both of Saturday's ballgames will be televised live on ESPN.
UCLA will send sophomore right-hander Trevor Bauer (10-3) to the mound. Florida is slated to start sophomore left-hander Alex Panteliodis (11-2).
