Bruin Swimmers Have Strong Showing At Santa Clara International Invitational

Several Bruin swimmers competed over the weekend at the Santa Clara International Invitational and came away with solid performances in the pool. Brittany Beauchan, Lauren Hall and Yasi Jahanshahi highlighted the women as all three competed in A finals for their respective events.
Beauchan placed fifth in the 100 breast A final with a time of 1:11.50. She also finished 10th to win the B final of the 200 breast with a time of 2:35.85. Jahanshahi was fifth in the 200 fly with a lifetime-best swim of 2:12.38 and sixth in the 100 fly, also with a lifetime-best, swimming 1:00.81. Hall was ninth in the 400 IM with a lifetime-best swim of 4:51.27. She was also 16th in the 200 breast with a swim of 2:38.49 (swam a lifetime-best 2:37.22 in the prelims). In the 400 free, Hall was 21st (4:21.61) and also placed 19th in the 200 fly (2:16.66).
Dani Milligan had a strong meet as she finished 26th in the 200 breast (2:41.66), 13th in the 400 IM with a lifetime-best mark of 4:53.49 and 14th in the 800 free (9:06.85).
Sam Vanden Berge, who captured the 1500m title on Thursday, was 22nd in the 400 free (4:22.50) and sixth in the 800 free (8:53.19). Bianca Casciari finished 19th in the 400 IM (4:58.57) and 12th in the 200 fly (2:15.69, lifetime-best). Kelsey Louden placed 21st in the 100 breast with a lifetime-best swim of 1:13.94.
The 800 free relay team of Hall, Alex Sullivan, Vanden Berge and Milligan finished third with a time of 8:27.71.
