Tomasulo Tied for Lead at Mexico Open

LEON, MEXICO - Former Cal golfer Peter Tomasulo (64-71-72 - 207, -9) is tied for the lead heading into Sunday's final round of action at the Mexico Open Bicentenary stop of the PGA's Nationwide Tour. Tomasulo and fellow American B.J. Staten are both at identical 54-hole totals of nine-under par 207 after each shot even-par rounds of 72 on Saturday. Five others are one shot off the pace at eight-under, while 15 place are within four shots.
Several other current and former Cal golfers have also recently been in action.Former Golden Bear Charlie Wi (64-67-71 - 202, -8) is tied for 13th place heading into Sunday's final round of the Travelers Championship on Sunday. Wi shot a one-over round of 71 on Saturday after having been nine-under and tied for third through the first 36 holes.
Sophomore Brandon Hagy (67-67-71-75 - 280) finished tied for seventh at the Rice Planters Amateur Tournament, shooting a 75 during Saturday's final round after having led the event after three rounds.
Senior John Murphy (T-72nd, 76-71-77-72 - 296, +20) and former Cal player George Gandranata (77th, 77-75-70-76 - 298, +22) wrapped up four days of action Saturday at the Northeast Amateur Invitational Golf Tournament.
