PAC-10 ANNOUNCES 2010-2011 CHAMPIONSHIPS SCHEDULE

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - The Pac-10 Conference announced the 2010-2011 schedule for its 16 championships. The Championships will be held at various venues across the Pac-10 footprint and will decide the Conference champions in men's and women's basketball, men's and women's golf, men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's rowing, women's gymnastics, wrestling, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's cross country, and men's and women's outdoor track & field.

The 2010-2011 championship season kicks off on October 30, 2010, when WASHINGTON hosts the Pac-10 men's and women's cross country championships at Jefferson Golf Course in Seattle, Wash. Highlighting the championships are the men's and women's basketball tournaments, which will tip off simultaneously in Los Angeles, March 9-12, 2011. The men's tournament returns to the STAPLES Center, while the women's event opens at USC's Galen Center then joins the men at STAPLES Center for the semi!nal and championship rounds.

The championship schedule concludes with the men's and women's rowing championships, which remains at one of the finest aquatic facilities in the country at Lake Natoma near Sacramento, Calif., May 15, 2011.

Competition at the Pac-10 Championship has always been of the highest caliber, preparing Conference teams for postseason play at the NCAA Tournament. Pac-10 teams have won more NCAA Championships than any other conference in the country, claiming 390 team titles. League teams have also produced 1,847 individual national champions, also the most of any conference. In 2009-10, 71.1 percent of men's teams and 73.7 percent of women's teams participated in NCAA Championships or other postseason play. There's no better indication of an institution's yearly postseason success than the Lear!eld Director's Cup standings, which has belonged to Stanford for 16-consecutive years, while seven member schools in all placed in the top 25.

Below are the dates and sites of the 2010-2011 Pac-10 Championships.
