UCLA AND STANFORD MEN'S SOCCER RANKED IN PRESEASON


WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Two Pac-10 teams were named to the College Soccer News 2010 Preseason Top 30 national poll. UCLA, the 2009 Pac-10 Champion, has been ranked No. 8, while the STANFORD Cardinal holds the No. 14 spot.



The Bruins, which !nished last season with a 12-4-4 record and an NCAA quarter!nal appearance, will face three other Top 25 teams in 2010 - No. 6 UC Santa Barbara, Stanford and No. 21 Indiana. The Bruins kick off play against Notre Dame on September 3 at the adidas/IU Credit Union Classic in Bloomington, Ind.



Stanford, third in the Pac-10 in 2009, completed the season with a 12-6-2 overall record and advanced to the third round of the NCAA tournament. The Cardinal will see No. 28 Sacramento State in addition to UCLA this season. Stanford begins play September 1 against Vermont in Burlington, Vt.



CALIFORNIA senior defender A.J. Soares was tabbed College Soccer News 2010 Preseason All-America Second Team.
