After returning to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2005, head coach David Rubio and the Wildcats have even higher expectations for 2010. Along with four returning senior starters, Arizona adds two transfers and four freshmen who all looking to make an impact. Senior captain and setter Paige Weber enters her final season anchoring the Wildcat offense. She ranked seventh in the Pac-10 in assists per set (10.75). Senior Tiffany Owens and redshirt senior Whitney Dosty provide Arizona with two experienced outside hitters. Both were Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 selections last season with Weber. Owens led the team in kills (3.76 kps), while Dosty followed her with 3.02 kills per set. Junior middle blocker Courtney Karst is a valuable player who provides versatility and depth for Arizona. She averaged 2.45 kills per set and 0.35 blocks per set in 2009.

Despite leading 2-1 and for most of the fourth set, Arizona fell, 3-2, to the Cardinal in Tucson last season. The Wildcats opened Pac-10 play at home with a 3-1 win over USC. The two teams closed Conference play in Los Angeles, with the Women of Troy proving victorious, 3-1.

#34 Paige Weber

Senior captain and setter Paige Weber lead the Wildcats with 10.75 assists per set last season, good for seventh in the Pac-10. In three seasons, Weber has totaled 3,579 assists. She enters her final season at No. 4 on the Arizona all-time assist chart. Weber also tallied 2.09 digs, 0.45 blocks and 0.65 kills while starting all 110 sets played for the Wildcats. She recorded a team-high 31 service aces in 2009. Her play was instrumental in leading Arizona back to the NCAA Tournament. Weber also played for the USA Volleyball Women's A2 National Team over the summer.
