The Golden Bears will take aim at a ninth-consecutive berth in the NCAA Tournament this season, following on the heels of three straight appearances in the regional finals. The Cal lineup will have a different look following the graduation of Pac-10 Player of the Year and first-team All-American Hana Cutura. The Golden Bears are experienced at the setter position, with senior Cari Lloyd directing the offense for another season. Lloyd, Cal's first All-American setter, averaged 11.24 assists per set last season, ranking fifth in the Pac-10. Cal returns a productive duo in Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 junior outside hitter Tarah Murrey and sophomore middle hitter Correy Johnson, a Pac-10 All-Freshman selection last season. Murrey was second on the team in kills last season (2.93 kps) and third in digs (2.25 dps). Johnson averaged 1.66 kills per set, good for fourth on the team. The Golden Bears welcome a talented recruiting class that includes two Texans named to the Volleyball Magazine Fab 50: outside hitters Adrienne Gehan and Lauren Loerch.
