No. 10 Golden Bears Outrace Roadrunners
BERKELEY - The No. 10-ranked California volleyball team (8-0) extended its set-winning streak to 24 as it defeated Cal State Bakersfield (0-12) in three sets, 25-14, 25-17, 25-14, at Haas Pavilion. Sophomore middle hitter Kat Brown led the Golden Bears with five blocks and put in an efficient night of work on a career-high 10 kills (1e, 11att) and a .818 attack percentage. Junior outside hitter Tarah Murrey had a match-high 12 kills (2e, 21att, .476) while sophomore middle Shannon Hawari went error free on 11 attacks to earn seven kills (.636).
Ganzer's 30 Kills Leads Volleyball to 3-1 Win over Zags
PULLMAN, Wash. -- Washington State junior Meagan Ganzer had her third 30-kills match in the past five contests as the Cougars defeated Gonzaga 25-20, 27-25, 23-25, and 25-19, Tuesday night at Bohler Gym. Ganzer, second on the NCAA Division I volleyball national kills list coming into this match, had seven errors in 62 attacks for a .371 hitting percentage. Just as impressive were Ganzer's nine digs and match-leading seven blocks.
13th-Ranked Bruins Knock Off Cal State Northridge in Four
NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - The 13th-ranked Bruins dropped the opening set, but came back to lead wire-to-wire in each of the final three sets to post a four-set victory on Tuesday at Cal State Northridge. Senior Dicey McGraw and freshman Kelly Reeves each had double-doubles. Set scores were 22-25, 25-21, 25-15, 25-14.
