Pac-10 Game of the Week

OSU

PLAYERS TO WATCH

OREGON STATE (1-1)
:

>> DT Stephen Paea - Senior. Strong and explosive at the point of attack, Paea is one of the more dominant DT's in college football. Sure to be a high round NFL Draft pick.

>> OC Alex Linnenkohl - Senior. Leader of the Beaver outside linebackers. Smart and tenacious competitor is very consistent from game to game.

>> OH Jacquizz Rodgers -Junior. Undersized runner is extremely quick and surprisingly durable for his size. True difference maker.

>> WO James Rodgers - Senior. Brother of Jacquizz. He is another explosive weapon on the outside and can make big plays down field versus one-on-one coverage.

>> QB Ryan Katz - Sophomore. Strong-armed young QB has one of the best arms on the West Coast. Very good leader as well.

BOISE STATE (2-0):
>> QB Kellen Moore - Junior. Typical Bronco signal caller, lightly recruited due to size but extremely smart, accurate and mobile.

>> WO Austin Pettis- Senior. Very good size/speed receiver with excellent hands and route running savvy. "Big Play" threat.

>> WO Titus Young - Senior. Fleet-footed deep threat, can run by defenders with second gear burst to separate.

>> OH Jeremy Avery - Senior. Explosive runner is rotating this season but remains the Bronco's homerun hitter from the backfield. Outstanding speed and acceleration.

>> OT Nate Potter - Junior. One of the best OT's in the country. Very good size, strength and athletic ability.

>> SS Jeron Johnson - Senior. Active and aggressive SS is the key player for the Bronco's stingy defense.

SUMMARY

The key to the game will be Oregon State's ability to sustain drives with their running attack in order to keep the explosive Bronco's offense off the field. Their offensive line must win the line of scrimmage to create room for the talented Jacquizz Rodgers to make big plays on the ground.

The Beaver defense must come up with some big stops on third down in order to keep the game close. Boise's ability to score in bunches is always an issue so Oregon State must bring their A-game to have a chance at the upset.
