Stanford Men Continue at #1 in USTFCCCA Poll; Four WomenÃ¢â¬â¢s Teams Ranked
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - The STANFORD menâ€™s cross country team sits atop the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Coaches Poll this week, leading four Pac-10 menâ€™s teams in the ranking. On the womenâ€™s side, four teams continue to be ranked, including Arizona, who jumped 15 spots in the national poll.
The Cardinal men have been ranked No. 1 every week this season. They won the Stanford Invitational over the weekend, which featured a competitive field, including No. 7 Northern Arizona, No. 8 Arkansas, No. 30 UCLA and CALIFORNIA. Bruin senior Dylan Knight led the charge for UCLA as the teamâ€™s highest finisher, placing 18th. Cal senior Michael Coe came in fifth among all individuals to lead the Golden Bears, who are receiving votes in this weekâ€™s national poll.
The Ducks rank third in this weekâ€™s menâ€™s poll and ARIZONA STATE is tied for 19th. Both squads were off last weekend. WASHINGTON is receiving votes in the polling.
The Wildcat womenâ€™s big jump in the polling comes after a big win at the 25th Annual Roy Griak Invitational, topping a field that included eight ranked teams that placed in the top 10. Arizona is ranked ninth in the national poll this week. Stanford is 14th after another win, claiming the Stanford Invitational title.
The Huskies and Duck remain in the top five in the national poll this week. Both teams had the weekend off.
On Friday, Oct. 1, Arizona State hosts Arizona at the ASU Invitational, while the Sun Devil men, Oregon and Washington head to the Notre Dame Invitational. On Saturday, Oct. 2, Oregon State travels to the Charles Bowles Invitational, Washington will run in the Emerald City Invitational and Washington State will compete at the Montana Invitational.

Women - 3. Washington; 5. Oregon; 9. Arizona; 14. Stanford.
