BERKELEY - After the Cal women's soccer team allowed its 2-0 lead to slip to a 2-2 tie at 89:18, sophomore forward Lauren Battung netted her second score of the game with four seconds remaining in regulation to give Cal the 3-2 victory over Washington on Friday afternoon.
Stanford Spreads the Wealth in 5-0 Win

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Chelsea Buckland provided the game-winning goal in the 83rd minute, as the Beavers took down the Women of Troy, 1-0 Friday night at Paul Lorenz Field on Kick Cancer night in front of a season high crowd of 874 on. It is the second straight year that the Beavers have defeated the USC and only the fourth time in program history.

TEMPE, Ariz. - Senior midfielder Alexandra Elston tied her single-game career best with two goals as the Arizona State women's soccer team defeated Arizona 2-1 in front of a school record crowd of 1,513. Friday's match was the latest installment in the State Farm Territorial Cup Series.
No. 10 Cal Beats SDSU 3-0, Extends Unbeaten Streak to 8
BERKELEY - Three different Golden Bears scored to power No. 10/11 California to a 3-0 blanking of Pac-10 foe San Diego State on Friday at Edwards Stadium. A.J. Soares, Chris Ortega and Servando Carrasco netted goals, as the Bears improved their record to 8-1-2 (4-0-0 in the Pac-10) and extended their unbeaten streak to eight games. Cal also improved its winning streak to four games, with all four wins over conference opponents. The Aztecs fell to 7-4-1 (1-3-0 Pac-10).

SEATTLE - Daniel Gray, Brent Richards and Quinton Beasley all netted goals as the UW men's soccer team blanked Oregon State, 4-0, in Pac-10 play Friday night at Husky Soccer Stadium.

Stanford, Calif. - Stanford got a late goal from Dersu Abolfathi to upset No. 13 UCLA, 2-1, in front of a large crowd a Laird Q. Cagan Stadium. The win gets Stanford's record back to .500 at 6-6-0 and evens its Pac-10 record at 2-2-0.

BERKELEY - California volleyball sophomore middle hitter earned a career-high 17 points (11 kills, eight blocks) to help the No. 6-ranked Golden Bears (16-1, 6-1 Pac-10) to a four-set victory (26-24, 21-25, 25-15, 25-8) over Washington State (6-10, 0-6 Pac-10) on Dig for the Cure night at Haas Pavilion on Friday, Oct. 15. Cal won its 12th-consecutive home match as junior outside hitter Tarah Murrey logged her third-straight outing with at least 20 kills (5e, 56att, .268); her sixth overall this season.

The Cardinal improves to 15-1 and 6-1 in the Pac-10, while the Huskies drop to 15-2 on the season and 4-2 in the conference.
10th-Ranked Bruins Rally to Beat #25 Arizona in Five-Set Thriller
TUCSON, Ariz. - The 10th-ranked Bruins trailed two sets to one and 5-0 and 13-10 in the deciding fifth set, but came back to defeat #25 Arizona on Friday at the McKale Center. Set scores were 22-25, 25-23, 24-26, 25-15, 16-14. Sophomore Rachael Kidder and freshmen Kelly Reeves and Madie Smith each posted double-doubles, while junior Lainey Gera and sophomore Bojana Todorovic both had career highs in digs.
Volleyball Stuns No. 5 USC With First Win in 15 Years
TEMPE, Ariz. - In a match 15 years in the making the Sun Devil Volleyball team kicked it into high gear Friday night to rattle the cage in the Pac-10 as they toppled the fifth-ranked USC Women of Troy in 3-1 with final scores of 29-27, 25-23, 25-14 and 25-23 to seal the Sun Devil's first win over USC since 1995. The win pushes ASU to 7-11 overall and 2-5 in Pac-10 play while USC falls to 14-3 on the year and 3-3 in conference action.
