Lichtman Voted Pac-10 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - STANFORD's Cassidy Lichtman was named Pac-10 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 1-7, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today. The senior setter/outside hitter led the Cardinal to two wins over top-10 teams this past weekend. Stanford's wins over then-No. 10 UCLA and No. 7 USC put the team back in a tie for first place in the Pac-10 standings.
The Poway, Calif., native averaged 3.29 kills, 7.57 assists, 1.86 digs, 4.07 points and 0.86 blocks in the two matches. Against the Bruins on Friday, Lichtman recorded her team-leading 11th double-double of the season with 17 kills and 29 assists. Her 17 kills were a season high as she also added seven digs and five blocks. Versus the Trojans on Sunday, Lichtman finished with six kills, 24 assists, six digs and two aces as Stanford swept the season series with USC.
It is Lichtman's first career Pac-10 Player of the Week honor and the 73rd weekly recognition for Stanford all-time.
The No. 2 Cardinal hit the road for matches with Washington State on Friday and No. 11 Washington on Saturday.
